RPAC is a member of the National Coalition for History (NCH), a consortium of over fifty organizations that advocates on federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory issues in support of history.
The National Coalition for History is in the process of building a Congressional History Caucus in the United States House of Representatives to assist NCH in achieving its mission of promoting history on Capitol Hill. At the end of 2015 NCH had 23 members in the House History Caucus. In 2015 the History Caucus was instrumental in restoring funding in the Fiscal Year 2016 budget for the National Historical Publication and Records Commission (NHPRC). A larger History Caucus will enable NCH to achieve even more.
We urge genealogists to recruit their legislators to join the History Caucus. A sample “Dear Colleague letter” is available at http://historycoalition.org/congressional-history-caucus/.
